FROM THE LEADERSHIP TEAM:

AUGUST 2025 UPDATE

As we prepare for the upcoming High Holidays, we thought it would be helpful to share a quick update about our NextDor project. As always, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out to any member of the NextDor Leadership Team.

  •  The Temple building is now vacated, and the staff is comfortably settled into our temporary space on the Zarrow Campus.
    • Our services on the Zarrow Campus have been well attended, and well received.
  •     We are in the middle of selecting a General Contractor.
    • We have invited five local general contractors to bid on our project.
    • Our architects at Finegold Alexander were in Tulsa last week to meet with the potential contractors. Over twenty representatives of the contractors attended; an important signal of the strong interest in the project.
    • Bids are due the second week of September, and we anticipate choosing a contractor by the end of that month.
    • Our architects, who have spent considerable time getting to know our congregation’s needs/wants for the new building, will participate in the interviews with the bidders in September. Their participation will help us communicate our vision and plans to the contractor.
  •  Once a contractor is selected, demolition will begin. The first step, probably around the beginning of October, will be the removal and preservation of the Ten Commandments sculpture.
  •  This fall, following demolition, we will host a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the start of this important new chapter in Temple Israel’s history.
  •  Although there are still many variables to be navigated, we anticipate construction beginning in early 2026 and ending during the first quarter of 2027.
